Project Reveal: Tates Creek Baptist Association
One of the things I enjoy about branding is being able to design looks my clients love. I enjoy learning about their organization and designing a brand that not only reflects their company name but also their mission.
When Danny Davis took over as Director of Missions at Tates Creek Baptist Association, he knew the 224-year-old association was in desperate need of a makeover. He first contacted me about simply designing a new TCBA logo, but decided to expand the project to a complete rebrand solution including a new website, collateral, and the establishment of TCBA's social media presence.
To kickoff TCBA's project, I scheduled a call with Danny to discuss TCBA's needs, budget and timeline. I then provided him with a detailed proposal outlining TCBA's scope of work, deliverables, deadlines and fees. This is something I provide to each client and consider to be an important first step in ensuring everyone is starting on the same page and has a clear vision for moving forward. Within a few days of submitting my proposal, I was delighted to hear it received unanimous approval by TCBA's Executive Board.
To begin TCBA's project I forwarded Danny a brief questionnaire to get his initial thoughts on what he would like to include in the logo. We discussed his vision and I designed several logo concepts for his review and feedback. Once we finalized the TCBA logo, I began working on the new TCBA Squarespace site, its social media presence and finally several pieces of collateral.

Logo Concepts
One unique challenge we encountered with the rebranding of Tates Creek Baptist Association was the length of its name. I advised using a unique and consistent URL that could be used across all digital channels and was happy to receive approval of this request. After researching a number of options, I secured the URL tcbaofky.com as well as the username @tcbaofky across all social sites.

Once we were ready to launch the new website, I provided Danny with a launch kit that included a series of social media posts to help promote the site's launch and highlight key areas of importance.
Working on TCBA's rebrand and website was a true delight, and I couldn't be happier with their results. To close out our project I asked Danny a few questions to get his thoughts on how the project went, and if he would recommend Six40 Marketing to others. Here are his responses. How do you feel about your project results? "I am extremely pleased with the project results, on every level." What was your favorite thing about working with me, and why? "You listen. You really hear your client's unique needs and aspirations. You don't come to the task with a pre-set agenda or a one-size-fits-all solution. At the same time, you are not afraid to gently challenge the client to move beyond safe borders and look at new and different possibilities." Would you recommend Six40 Marketing to others? If so, what would you tell them about your project and/or experience? "I would absolutely recommend Six40 Marketing to others. I cannot imagine another firm providing the combination of personal interaction with the client, quality of product, and overall commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction." |
